Protection from the sun

Compare products

The sun is the prime element involved in chlorophyll photosynthesis, indispensable for all plants to survive. However, the sun can be too strong at certain times of year, causing the formation of chlorotic or even necrotic spots on the leaves, reducing the value of plants in the nursery and causing fruit production to fall. In order to reduce the intensity of the sun’s rays, one option involves whitewashing the greenhouses although, due to wash out, this operation has to be repeated at least once a year. Reed thatch is another option, although it is heavy and does not last long. The use of shading netting is the most effective solution today for preventing young leaves from being burnt following exposure to direct sunlight.
In fact, these fabrics are able to guarantee homogeneous light diffusion, consequently reducing the plant’s need for water and providing better growing conditions.
